Dec. 20th: During the last Bilingual Storytime of the year, we celebrated St. Nicholas' Day. Children received treats from St. Nick, sang songs and played games.
Dec. 17th: Ukrainian Society of Indiana joined Carmel Sister Cities for the International Winter Festival and Caroling Night - and shared three beautiful Ukrainian carols.
Dec. 14th: USI represented Ukraine at the Holiday Bazaar hosted by Indy's Global Village.
Dec. 15th: USI participated at the Ukrainian Scholars Dinner at Purdue University.
Dec. 15th: USI visited with the West Lafayette Jr Sr High School which has a club that volunteers to teach English to Ukrainians.
Dec 6th: USI celebrated International Volunteer Day by hosting a gathering for our volunteers and members.

Oct. 29th: USI facilitated a sister city signing between Vincennes and Ovruch - a third partnership under the Indiana-Zhytomyr Oblast sister state MOU.
Nov. 11th: USI was proud to be a partner of the Spirit and Place festival and share about one of the darkest pages of our nation's history - Holodomor.
Nov. 18th: USI represented Ukrainian culture at the IU Indianapolis international festival I-Fest.
Oct. 4th: USI exhibited Ukrainian culture at the Annual Hendricks County International Festival.
Oct: The Ukrainian Society of Indiana was proud to once again be a partner of Heartland Film Festival. The 2025 festival lineup included Love + War about Lynsey Addario.
Sep. 27th-28th: USI represented Ukraine at the Carmel International Arts Festival, showcasing Ukrainian history, art & culture.
Sep. 20th: Trail Cleanup & Food Truck event was organized by USI in partnership with Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation.
Sep. 13th: USI represented Ukraine at Walk a Mile in Refugee's shoes.
Aug. 24th: At the Ukrainian Independence Day we raised $1,360 to benefit "Bez Doma" to help feed and clothe the most vulnerable.
We successfully relaunched Bilingual Storytime at the Indianapolis Public Library!
Jul. 1st: We celebrated Ukraine Constitution Day at Passione Wood Oven Pizza & Wings with a fundraiser for "Bez Doma", raising $560.
The Ukrainian Language Learner's club keeps growing, often maxing out the library meeting room capacity!
Jun. 10th: In collaboration with Polish Cultural Society of Indiana and the Latvian Community of Indiana we were able to share materials and stories with GHDT that helped shape the pieces for the powerful performance of JOURNEY TO FREEDOM.
Jun. 7th: For our book club meeting our leader, Ulyana was able to invite the author of "Dzvinka" - Nina Kuryata.
Jun. 4th: USI was featured on WISH TV Live Style Live with a talk about Ukrainian culture and traditional clothing.
May 24th: USI Members represented Ukraine at the Indy 500 parade.
In 2025 USI Book Club held 4 successful meetings.
May 17th: We celebrated Vyshyvanka Day at Olesya's Kitchen in Columbus, IN.
May 8th: For the Day of Remembrance USI organized Ukrainian Conversations @ Indy Art Center. Zhytomyr-based choir "OREYA" performed live remotely. The event also included poetry readings, a violin performance, a dance and a fundraiser.
May 7th: USI facilitated a webinar to share updates on the progress of projects and collaborations under the Indiana-Zhytomyr Oblast sister state MOU.
Apr. 26th: Volunteers represented USI at the inaugural Symphony on the Circle Festival.
Apr. 13th: Together with the Polish Cultural Society of Indiana, USI hosted an Easter egg painting event!
Apr. 11th: Opening of the "Resistance To Cruelty That Never Ends" exhibition by the Ukrainian artist, and USI member, Iryna Bondar, organized by Patchwork Indy, USI and Indianapolis Art Center.
Apr. 4: USI participated in the IU Bloomington radio station podcast, sharing about our work and impact.
Mar. 27th: USI facilitated a service learning project focused on Ukraine for SMWC students.
At the 2025 USI Annual Meeting our members voted to donate $1,000 to 4 different organizations in Ukraine. NH4Ukraine and SOS Дитячі Містечка Україна have shared their thank you letters with us.
Mar. 13th: USI facilitated a presentation of SMWC students’ sister cities project to City of Carmel leadership.
Mar. 6-8: USI supported the Notre Dame University’s inaugural Ukrainian Studies Conference, including opening remarks from President Svitlana Ramer.
Feb. 12th: USI met with co-owner of Bier Brewery Ryan Connor to thank him for the Ukrainian beer fundraiser and gift him beer from the Berdychiv Beer Plant.
Jan. 31st: USI met with Carmel mayor Sue Finkam and CFD Chief to gift Ukrainian firefighter helmets for the CFD museum.
